Dahlia Feed

Delivers dazzling displays of colourful, healthy blooms

Organic Gardening

Specially tailored nutrient mix

Description

Vitax Organic Dahlia Feed delivers a carefully balanced, organic blend of nutrients to promote vigorous growth, vibrant colours, and long-lasting flowers.

Dahlias continue to dazzle as darlings of the late summer garden, but they are greedy eaters and need to be fed and watered on a regular basis to maintain those billowing blooms.

  • Tailored mix of nutrients provides the right mix for bigger, bright blooms and abundant flowering
  • Contains three essential plant nutrients – nitrogen, phosphate and potash to encourage vivid colours and rich, healthy foliage
  • Added natural magnesium and trace elements support plant growth and healthier roots.

To thrive, dahlias require fertile, moist but well-draining soil in a sunny, sheltered area and with regular feeding, they’ll reward you with dazzling displays right through late summer..

Easy to use, Vitax Organic Dahlia Feed should be added to the growing media when planting in pots and containers. If planting directly into the ground, add to the bottom of the planting hole for best results.

Once plants are established and flowering shoots develop, feed with a high potash feed, such as Vitax Liquid Dahlia Feed every two weeks.

How to Use

When planting out dahlia tubers

Dahlia tubers can be grown on from April in trays or pots protected from frost in a greenhouse, cold frame or by horticultural fleece if planted directly in sheltered gardens.

In pots & tubs: Add 30g of Vitax Organic Dahlia Feed per 6 litres of compost when planting up tubs and pots.

In the garden: Dig a 30cm hole. Fork over the base of the planting hole adding 30g of Vitax Organic Dahlia Feed to the bottom of planting hole. Mix a similar quantity with the soil backfill and firm in the tuber well.

When planting out bedding dahlias

In the garden: Dig a planting hole that's around 30cm across, fork over the base of the hole adding 30g of Vitax Organic Dahlia Feed then mix a similar quantity with the soil backfill.
